Question: I have had an inquinal hernia and a femoral hernia repair years ago. Tonight taking a shower, I noticed an area above the perineum , on the right side, that is sunken in. I had diarrhea last two days that has stopped this afternoon. What could this mean?

Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

If possible kindly attach images, so that I can get better idea.

There can be several causes which should get evaluated. Still as per your history, I think it may be due to loss of abdominal muscle tone.

Kindly follow up with few more details,
At present, do you have nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, history of injury or trauma?

For further assessment I would suggest you to consult with your surgeon for detailed clinical examination. He may procure ultrasound or computed tomography abdomen as per evaluation.

Till then kindly take soft diet. Avoid strenuous activity. Take proper rest.

Hope I have answered your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further.
