I Have Had An Up And Down Fever Since Tuesday
Question: I have had an up and down fever since Tuesday night (it got to it's highest Tuesday night if 101.5), sneezing a lot Tuesday and Wednesday, started coughing Wednesday into today, and have had chills and sweats a couple days as well. I took alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol Tuesday evening through yesterday at 4 pm. This morning I woke up to my temperature bring 99.9 and now it's currently 98.7. I am not sneezing as much now, but cough feels like it's gotten into my chest a little bit. Would you recommend I still keep taking ibuprofen and Tylenol? Should I go see a doctor? I haven't seen a doctor the entire sickness. I do feel like my energy level is slowly improving.
Also, my heart rate keeps going up and down with my fever.
I wasn't able to submit the added information for some reason. I am a 30 year old Female. I have medical history with having ear infections and strep throat.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The most likely reason for your symptoms would be viral infection affecting your respiratory tract- either the common cold or flu.
THe flu is usually associated the symptoms mentioned along with other severe symptoms such as loss of appetite, joint and muscle pain.
This means that your symptoms are likely in keeping with the cold.
The ibuprofen and tylenol can be continued- these would help with fever and chills and headache. It is normal for the heart rate to be affected by the fever. It would not cause any long term heart related complications.
If the cough is starting to sound wet then a mucolytic might help eg mucinex, this or a similar agent would help to break up the mucus so that it can be easily expelled.
A cough suppressant such as dextromethorphan/robitussin- would help to suppress coughing, you can use it at night if the coughing is severe.
Fluids and rest, would also help as well.
Since your energy level is improving, you may not need to be seen at this stage
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
