Question: I have had daily diarrhea for over 6 months, I thought it was stress related because of a career change but there have been other problems too. I have lost about 20 pounds unintentionally. I have a mass on my thyroid that I'm having biopsied this week but all of my blood tests have come back normal for the thyroid and normal blood test results as well for the kidneys, anemia, iron, potassium, etc. So the doctor thinks the weight loss is unrelated to my thyroid... I get full really fast and feel sick after I eat. Every morning I have diarrhea at least twice usually more times and I'm always able to see food from the previous night's dinner in my stool. Not just corn, but things like peas, spinach, tomatoes, rice have all come out looking a little bit chewed but not digested. I noticed a few weeks ago (after vaginal intercourse) that the opening of my rectum was puffy and dark purple and swollen but I've checked it again and haven't seen it like that since that one time. I'm wondering if it's related. My doctor wants me to have a colonoscopy and I was referred to a gastroenterologist but they weren't able to schedule me for a consult for another 3 weeks.
