Question: I have had frequent urination at night but I hardly go during the day. I had recent bloodwork since this started and it was fine.

1) What is your age and Gender ? 35 year old female
2) How is your urine stream Moderate poor or normal ? My urine stream is always poor
3) Are you Diabetic ? No, recent A1c was 5.4%
4) Is there urgency for urination at night ? Yes
5) Do you take alcohol or coffee after evening ? I don't drink alcohol or caffeine at all
6) Are you taking any medications for ant other illness ? I take symbicort for asthma, synthyroid for hypothyroid, and zanaflex and elmiron for interstital cystitis. It is not due to my interstitial cystitis because when I have a frequency flare I don't urinate much each time, but right now my bladder is completely full several times a night

The nocturnal frequency that you have is mostly due to what is called as Over Active Bladder (OAB)

Taking anti cholenergic drug like Darifenacin once at night will help to resolve your problem

Avoid drinking water after 7 P M .

I'm not able to take over active bladder medications, I have tried everything and they cause bladder retention. I don't have frequency during the day, just at night. I can go several hours during the day without urinating and at night I may have to go every 1-2 hours and my bladder is full. I drink most of my liquids in the morning. I want to know why I produce more urine at night than during the day. No one will take me seriously because I have interstitial cystitis.

Taking Desmopressin (0.2 mg ).one tablet at night should help to resolve the issue .It will help to reduce the production of urine at night .
