Question: I have had hemorrhoids now for a few years. They’ve been a discomfort at times, but I can’t say they have ever really bothered me too much. Even with the occasional bleeding. However within the last week, I had significant soreness, so much so I decided to take a look. I have what looks to be a small white pus filled sac on one of my external hemorrhoids. It’s all around very sore. And the hemorrhoid itself seems much harder than I’ve ever recalled them being. As a matter of fact I have another at this moment and it’s extremely soft, no pain. What could this be?

I have reviewed your query with attached photograph and here is my advice.

* As per my surgical experience, the white spot around anus seems minor infection in
pre existing boil type lesion or external hemorrhoid.

* My recommendations at present:
- Manage diet to have soft stools.
- Regular Sitz bath (sitting in a tub filled with lukewarm water added epsom salt) twice
a day.
- Consult your doctor by appointment for further course of action.
