Question: I have had occasional intercourse with someone who has herpes 2. We have always used condoms, and never had intercourse during an outbreak. in 10 years, I have had no symptoms. what is the likelihood that I have it?Do I still need to get tested if I'm moving on to a new partner?
Brief Answer:
Regarding herpes simplex virus
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Genital Herpes (HSV 2) can still be transmitted despite protected sex and without a clinical episode though the risk is very less. So kindly get tested for this.
