Posted on Wed, 9 Dec 2020
Question: I have had right lower quad pain for 2 and a half weeks. An X-ray was performed and stated constipation. I was given mag citrate which worked, but again I am having that pain, I do not believe it is appendicitis. No fever, no nausea, no rebound pain but it doesn’t seem to go away. What could this be? :( making me nervous

Brief Answer:
You need further investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Pain in the Right lower quadrant can be due to Appendicitis,Right sided Ureteric stone,Right sided ovarian cyst etc.
Ultrasound abdomen will give a clue.Correct diagnosis is made by CT scan abdomen.
I have seen many patients of Appendicitis with complaint of Only Pain Abdomen. There will be No nausea, fever etc.In these patients, the Appendix lumen will be obstructed by Faecal stone(fecolith).
Please consult Surgical Gastroenterologist or a General Surgeon and proceed further
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health

Could it be appendicitis after 2.5 weeks? Is there such a thing as chronic appendicitis? I am requesting a CT scan from my Dr tomorrow.
