Brief Answer:
Further evaluation is necessary to find the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

Tinnitus is a symptom that may be linked to several underlying causes.

In some cases, however, it remains idiopathic ( i.e. with no underlying cause ).

Possible causes of tinnitus include chronic ear damage ( earwax blockage, stiffening of the ear bones ), Ménière's disease, acoustic neuroma, adverse effects of drugs, vascular malformations, etc.

So, evaluation by an ENT, Neurologist and by imaging studies such brain MRI are necessary to find the cause of the tinnitus.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
