Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for your health and before giving any opinion I would like to tell you to kindly upload your blood test reports so that I can personally evaluate them for the high red blood cell count which you are telling and then advise you accordingly for that as well as your blood pressure.

Also I would like to know if you have any other medical issues like diabetes and your smoking habit .

Dr. Partap,

No diabetes problem, however, I have a mild case of COPD and under doctor's care for this problem, not a major problem as we speak according to the pulminologist. I received infor to take the new blood pressure medicine along with the former blood pressure medicine as well.

Thank you,
Warm regards,

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Thanks for this valuable information. COPD patients have decreased blood oxygen levels and to compensate this body generates more red blood cells to carry more oxygen. This is the reason of your increased red blood cells.

Now coming to your doubts, you need not do anything for this increased cells as this is a compensatory phenomenon to help your body. No blood pressure medications won’t do anything to that.

Just keep in touch with your treating doctors at regular intervals, take medications as prescribed and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Hope to have been helpful.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
