I also have a wound on my left leg that it being treated at a local wound clinic. I asked them if it could be shingles, the said they didn't think so, and prescribed Triamcinolone for the itching. That helps, but the rash seems to be spreading
Brief Answer:
Doesn’t seem to be shingles, could be eczematous rash, upload pics
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and it doesn’t seem to be shingles.
Shingles usually presents with pain, burning and grouped fluid filled blisters usually involving a dermatome ( segment) of the body.
It seems you are having an eczematous rash.
I would recommend you to upload the pictures of the affected areas under the report section of the site so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.

I uploaded pics. I hope you got them, as it's unclear if it worked or not
Brief Answer:
eczematous rash, topical steroid & antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs and it seems to be an eczematous rash.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream on the affected areas twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching for 2 weeks.
Steroidal preparations are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
