Question: I have mastocytosis and have chronic conditions re: allergies, diarrhea, and heartburn. I have a pain in my lower right and upper right abdomen. In the past this pain was helped by laying on my back and patting (hitting) my abdomen. Recently this pain has increased in frequency and lasts for more than a day. I am still having diarrhea, but this not give me any relief. My pain is relieved when I lay down but immediately returns when I stand up. My diet is limited but has not changed. I cannot ingest raw fruit or vegetables, dairy products, or wheat. My medication allergies are many. I take sucralfate, Cromolyn Sodium, Prevacid. Aspirin or other NSAIDS cause me to have ulcers in my mouth and throat. Pain medicine and prednisone cause me to have very bad reactions. I have tried using a heating pad and rolling around on a bed with no relief. My mother and my sister share the mastocytosis with me. My mom's liver was damaged and she died of primary biliary cirrhosis at 64 years old. My sisters intestines are damaged due the autoimmune nature of this disease as well. She recently suffered from a bowel rupture and 15" of her large intestine was removed. She now has a permanent colostomy.

Hello and thank you for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service for your query,
Have seen your details and I appreciate your concern.
As you are already suffering from a chronic condition and is on medicines making wild guesses won't help.
As technology is available so we should use it to rule out the cause of problem.
Some tests that should be done to rule out the cause of pain is-
A CT scan of abdomen.
A colonoscopy.
Both these tests should be done to see what's wrong with abdomen.
Just prescribing medicines without test is not a good idea.
Follow up with reports.
Thanks.
