Question: i had IV taken on 20.11.2021 , and now i have moderate pain at site of vein where IV needle was injected, for about 2-3 inches of the vein. the vein also has a slight bump. please advice if this is an area of concern

The swelling goes down by itself in few days

Hello,

It seems that you have developed a vein rupture after a needle insertion. It may have caused some bleeding in subcutaneous tissues. Such bleeding mostly gets resolved by itself. It is not of much concern, In case of worsening of the lump or pain, visit a surgeon for further management
