I Have Not Had A Real Bowel Movement In A
Question: I have not had a real bowel movement in a few weeks. Not particularly unusual for me but it's not a good thing ??
I have been on lizness 290 mcg for a week
Then on Wednesday my doctor suggested also taking miralax (capful ) and benafiber (2 teaspoons)
First day had a very small bowel movement that looked normal I believe, the only day. Yesterday few poops that looked like small rocks.
Ducalax laxative did nothing. May not have left in long enough.
I tried fleet liquid suppository before all this got a liquid poop.
I eat lots of salads and vegetables.
Have 1 1/2 ounces vodka every night.
On Friday and Saturday evening a stronger martini and 1/2 bottle wine.
chewing gum (sugarless) during day
coffee with half and half each morning . even dries hot water with lemon one day.
1/2 cantaloupe or honeydew with 1-2 ounces goat cheese
Meat, chicken, pork chops, fish on alternating basis during the week .
Been under an extreme amount of pressure in past few weeks. Although, I have had this problem for years.
I had normal colonoscopy a year ago. March 19
I feel overall good. Sometimes in morning my stomach does look larger. No pain.
I am a small person.
5 feet
about 100 pounds
66 years old
Have had several cancers and several years ago was on keflex 1.5 years.
Now take
400 mg Lamictal
300 mg wellbutrin.
1 mg klonopin before I go to sleep.
I am in New York , near city, but haven't been in city so prefer not going to doctors office (most only virtual).
and certainly not hospital .
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Melanie Garfinkle

Brief Answer:
Use fleet enema
Detailed Answer:
Hello there and thanks for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service for your query,
Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns.
As you are in New York I won't suggest you to go to any hospital right now.
My suggestion is that take fleet enema as and when required.Fleet enema is available over the counter and very likely would help you with motions.
In case fleet enema don't work then follow up.
Thanks!
