I Have Numbness And Occasional Pain In My Left Hand.
Question: I have numbness and occasional pain in my left hand. It comes and goes during the day and night. My hand is not cold--just numb and tingling--sometimes feels itchy in the mornings.

No, stroke or even-pre-stroke is unlikely as it generally shows in the face or surrounding area first. It doesn't cause such type of pain which comes and goes only on one hand.
However, if this is happening for a long time, diabetes should be ruled out. However, once again, Diabetes is unlikely to cause such symptoms only on one hand.
Nevertheless, I'd recommend getting checked up by the Neurologist as already explained earlier, along with getting those investigations done which will confirm the diagnosis...
