I Have Osteoporosis And Have A Compressed Thoracic Fracture Which

Question: I have osteoporosis and have a compressed thoracic fracture which I have seen a doctor for and was fitted for a brace. My question is I would like an honest answer as to a natural way to build strong bones as mine are very thin.Do not want to go on these bifosphonates [not sure if I spelt that right] but the side effects of these pills or shots are something I don't think my body would tolerate. My body gets very adverse side effects from most any pill. Please be honest and not just try to sell me on a drug as I do need to know exactly what I can start doing while my body is healing!! Thank You,Grace

Hi Grace
Thanks for the query
Bisphosphonates are one of the thw drugs to prevent osteoporotic fractures.
You can take dietary supplements of Vitamin D and calcium which may offer improved strength of the bones, however won't prevent fractures as much as Bisphosphonates do. Perform muscle stretching exercises. Go for a walk atleast 20-30 minutes a day. Yoga also helps.
You can take Calcitonin nasal sprays instead which can offer protection against osteoporotic fractures without the side effects.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
