Question: I have pain/discomfort in lower abdomen/pelvic area. It goes away when I sit. Does that mean its muscular?

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Muscular cause of pelvic pain is mostly due to muscular dysfunction of pelvic floor muscles due to different causes like irritable bowel syndrome, some urinary bladder conditions.or musculoskeletal conditions..The dysfunction causes muscle spasm of pelvic floor muscles.. which in turn compress pudendal nerve to cause pelvic pain.
Such pain can be relieved by sitting on a toilet seat posture(causing relief of pelvic pressure &the muscle spasm... &pudendal nerve compression in turn.
Investigations to find basic cause as well as nerve entrapment by imaging investigations followed by specific treatment to alleviate basic cause&muscle relaxants is needful.
