I Have Pain In My Forearm But Only To Touch

default
Posted on Wed, 19 Feb 2025
Question: I have pain in my forearm but only to touch. It is really sore to touch. I have been to the hospital and had an xray a fracture has been ruled out. They did blood tests which revealed CRP 4, ESR 11 and white cells 14. These have all come back raised. I am worried sick that something sinister is going on. I do have fibromyalgia so if it was a flare up would these be raised or is it something else. I am being referred to rheumatology but worried sick I have cancer in my arm or something. Please help me ASAP. Thanks

Hi there is nothing to see on my arm. It is mid forearm left side. I have no fever or anything only a sore arm. It is localised. There is only tenderness, no redness, no swelling, no change in skin colour, not warm to touch

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow up question.
please understand a cancer is not painful unless secondarily infected.
protein C level is within normal limits(less than 10)..so no worry of serious problem.
The sudden pain you had ,without any trauma, swelling or fever ...can be muscular....a muscle that joins elbow&wrist...helping palmer movements.
- Strain of muscle due to repitative movements, jurks causing stress to muscle fibers .
-This can be due to carpel tunnel syndrome causing pressure on nerve supplying the perticular muscle.
*I would suggest rest to the part(avoid painful movements)/ ice or hot pack to relieve pain on touch/gentle application of muscle relaxent creame like Relaxyl over the counter./Oral pain pills like Ibuprofen over the counter twice/three times a day after food(dose to be adjusted according to weight)/take calcium&vitamin B12 supliment over the counter.
*If pain does not respond OR recurs...you need to get investigated for nurogenic pain .
Please consult an orthopedic doctor for physical check up, needful investigations &specific treatment.
I hope that helps you.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks
