Question: I have pain in my left knee. It’s not exactly the knee, more so behind and below the knee. It’s difficult to bend the knee and painfully to walk and especially walk down stairs.

Brief Answer:
Mostly arthritis needs investigations to pin point the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Pazgaur ,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Pain in the knee joint you have can be due to-
- Injury to knee joint causing trauma/inflammation of the ligaments, muscles , cartilages forming knee joint.
- Inflammation /degenaration of the bones involved in the joint..reduction /destruction of synovial linings of joint....This is seen in various forms of arthritis(to be differentiated by examination &needful investigations by an orthopaedic surgeon.
-Though seems to be remote possibility in your case(from the symptoms)... deep vein thrombosis needs to be excluded in such pain.
*Home care consists of Rest, ice, compression elevation &over the counter anti inflammatory pill .It would help till you can see an orthopaedic doctor.
*Orthopaedic doctor would examine in detail &advise investigations like blood tests, imaging investigations to pin point the cause followed by cause specific treatment.
I hope that answers your query.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
