I Have Sciatica . I Have Also Noticed I Have

A tumor would be very unusual
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using 'Ask a Doctor'. The symptoms you describe are consistent with sciatica, and while a tumor can cause sciatica symptoms, it is a very rare cause. Most common by far are nerve compression due to spinal causes, especially disc herniation that pushes on the nerves to your leg. This is usually treated with physical therapy and medications, and sometimes, if it is persistent and severe, can be treated with spinal steroid injections. Rarely, patient will have surgery to treat this cause.
So especially if you don't have weight loss or any history of cancer, I would not be concerned about a tumor at this point, and would expect that the myelogram will confirm that.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.

Thank you again, XXXXXXX
Hopefully the myelogram can be rescheduled soon
Detailed Answer:
I'm sorry to hear that it is causing you so much pain. I hope they can reschedule the myelogram soon so that they can get a clear diagnosis and treat your pain effectively.
You're welcome, please let me know if there's anything else I can help with in the future. Thank you for your question and take care.
