I Have Sports Induced Asthma . I Take Asmanex Inhalation

Question: I have sports induced asthma. I take asmanex inhalation medication with a dosage of 220 mg. I only take it every few days. I run 5 miles every day. If I do not take asmanex for 3 days+ and I run, it will begin to be difficult to breathe. Its harder to inhale and exhale. If I do not use my rescue inhaler then I have to stop running so I can breathe. If I decide to run through grass, my asthma effects go away-despite 0 medication. Why is this? And how can I adapt my lungs to permanently get off my medication? (I am 18 btw. I understand that my lungs are not fully developed yet and I have to get off my inhaler.)
Note: the goal of this question is for me to find methods so that I may no longer use my inhaler.

Hello and welcome in Ask the Doctor
I can understand your concern
However the point is not that you should take off the inhaler. The first important think in your age is to desentisized with vaccines that contains small amounts of the allergens.
The second you should continue to run but the most advised sport to improve asthma is swimming.
The third poin is that you should use at least 3 months the inhaler such as Flixotide 125 x 2 puffs per day
Try to discuss the above with your alergologist specialist and he or she can advise you further.
