1.Symptoms just started today
2.Bleeding some every time I urine
3.No fever, chills, nor abdominal pain,
4. Have had lower back pain for some time, slipped disk
5. Because of the increased frequency, perhaps it is due to incomplete evacuation of urine
6. No burning sensation
7. No renal stones

Brief Answer:
Urinary infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Thanks for writing back,
Sorry for the inadvertent delay in replying back,
I have gone through your details,
Chances are that the bleeding could be a sign of an ongoing urinary infection. Ideally an urinary infection is associated with other symptoms like fever with chills, lower abdominal pain and burning sensation while urinating; in addition to frequent urge to urinate.
But in elderly, the only symptom can be the presence of blood in urine.
I would suggest you to consult with your family doctor or you may even go to the ER. Your doctor may suggest you to do a urine microscopy test along with a urine culture. You will also be started on a potent antibiotic, which you have to take it without fail for 7-10 days.
Meanwhile, I would suggest you to do the following:
- Drink plenty of water minimum 2L daily.
- Avoid beverages like tea, coffee, alcohol and soft drink; as they may irritate your bladder.
- You may take any OTC syrup containing disodium hydrogen citrate, which helps in alkalinising the urine, thereby reducing the frequent urge to pee.
I hope this helps,
Please feel free to discuss further,
Regards
