Detailed Answer:
Hello there,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I can understand your concerns...

Well, this seems like an acute allergic reaction due to some allergen (could be anything from food, beverage, cosmetics, clothing, medications, pollen etc.). If you have changed any of those things recently, then try to eliminate it first.

It's good that you've already taken the Diphenhydramine (I believe you've taken Benadryl)...You can take it twice daily till symptomatic improvements.

Additionally, an antiallergic i.e. Tab LEVOCETIRIZINE 10mg once daily can be taken for the next few days...They may cause a bit of drowsiness, so please avoid driving, handling any heavy types of machinery (if at all do)...

For symptomatic relief, you may apply some soothing Aloe-vera/Calamine lotion over the area twice daily and observe how you stay...Cold water shower would be helpful too, avoid direct sunlight exposure for the time being...

As the acute attack aborts the swelling will gradually start to subside, don't worry (it typically takes a few hours initially).

With all these, you should be feeling better within a while...If at all, despite following these, there's no improvement or any further break-out of rashes, any difficulty breathing, speaking, palpitation then I'd recommend a prompt visit to your nearest ER as you may need to get steroid shots in that scenario.

Let me know if I can assist you further...

Take Care
Kind Regards
