Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. As per your statement, you have been suffering from a painful swelling around the left scapular region.
Most commonly a painful swelling around the scapula may result from underlying skin conditions such as cyst, skin abscess, boil, or pimple. Again, more serious causes of painful swelling around the scapula are lipoma or fatty tissue impaction, dermatofibroma, etc.
Treatment depends on causes. A physician can diagnose the exact causes of such type of swelling by physical examination including inspection and palpation. In some cases, FNAC or biopsy from the swelling may confirm its underlying etiology.
In the meanwhile, you can apply topical antibiotic cream on that swelling 2-3 times daily and take painkillers like Acetaminophen, naproxen, or aceclofenac to reduce the soreness. You can apply a wet, hot compress on that swelling 15-20 minutes in each session 3-4 times daily which may help to reduce the swelling as well as pull out the fluid or pus.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
