Brief Answer:
respiratory infection, soft tissue lesion or lymph node enlargement.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, there can be various reasons for swelling neck with pain
as upper or lower respiratory tract infection, lymph node enlargement, soft tissue
lesions or others.
In many of the conditions, blood reports do turn up normal at times.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Pain - type, duration.
2. Associated fever, head ache, alteration in food intake, weight changes if any ?
3. Recent episode of cough ?
4. Swelling visible over the surface or just can palpate with fingers ?

Awaiting for your response.
Regards.
