I Have Swelling Under Each Eye. Plus I Have A

Question: I have swelling under each eye. Plus I have a slightly low level of sodium in my system. I have had bloodwork done for liver, kidneys, etc but all good.
Brief Answer:
Several possible causes
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. First, if there redness pain and discharge on this area then this is suggestive of eye infections and you should apply antibiotic cream or see ophthalmologist.
However if there are no such signs then it may be caused by too much salt intake, thyroid gland disorders, too little sleep, blocked tear duct or mononucleosis. So I suggest to check for these issues as well, not just blood tests. Wish you good health. Regards

I have had thyroid checked and it is good. If my sodium is low how can I be getting to much? Will reducing water intake help or??

Hi yes I have had thyroid checked too. I have slightly low sodium as reported from latest test. If my sodium is low, how could too much sodium cause swelling?
Brief Answer:
Hi
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Well, then sodium excess is not the cause but reducing water intake may help since too much water may lead to oedemas. You should check other hormones, not just the thyroid. Prolactine, aldosteron or estrogen may have role as well especially if these are higher in blood. Another cause is allergic reactions or dermatologic causes if hormonal and infectious causes are ruled out.
