Question: I have terrible PMDD. My doctor wants to put me on an SSRI to see if it will help me out.

Which do you suggest? And which dose? I am worried to gain weight.

Sertraline or fluoxetine

Detailed Answer:
Hello
For PMDD, sertraline or fluoxetine would be my choice based on my clinical experience.

All the SSRI drugs can cause weight gain.

I would suggest to start with minimum dose of sertraline that is 25mg or fluoxetine that is 20mg and observe for one cycle if it works.
Dose can be increased depending on the response to drug.
