Question: I have throbbing pain in my left side ovary that comes and goes, been going on since this morning. I have a history of ovarian cysts but this is the first time I've experienced this pain.

There are all possibilities that , considering that you have history of ovarian cysts, now that it is accompanied with pain, there are chances of this being an ongoing OVARIAN TORSION. This would be an emergency and needs to be ruled out by an urgent ultrasound pelvis and doppler studies.
