I Have Tingling In The Right Side Of My Face

default
Posted on Sat, 9 May 2020
Question: I have tingling in the right side of my face - near my nose and mouth, with a little bit on my tounge. I also have a sore ear that feels like there's a lot of fluid in the ear. Additionally, my neck and shoulder muscles are very very tight - likely from sitting too much now that I'm at home working. Is the face tingling connected to the shoulder?

Brief Answer:
There is no connection to the shoulder.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details. Based on this, the problem seems to be connected to either facial nerve or trigeminal nerve. In many cases, it is not serious and would respond to symptomatic treatment with pregabalin.

If symptoms persist, a brain MRI should be done to confirm the underlying cause.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
