I Have Undergone Angioplasty With 3 Stents Two Years Back.
Question: I have undergone angioplasty with 3 stents two years back. I am diabetic for last 13 years. I also have BP. Medications are Telday 40 once, Janumet 50/1000 twice daily, Angiospan TR 2.5 twice daily, Starpress XL 50 once in morning, Clavix AS 150 once night. I am practicing Pranayam for last 20 days. BP is slightly lesser than 120/80. So I stopped Telday 40 for last 5 days, yet BP is normal within 135/85. Q.1. Should I stop this medicine in future also till the BP remains normal? (BP medicine - prescribed by a general physician; Janumet by a diabetologist and the others for heart by a cardiologist). Q.2. What are the XXXXXXX and min PRACTICAL limits for sugar (against 110 fasting/140pp) and bp (against 120/80) that i need to watch?

Hello
After going through the medical query raised by you I can understand your concern for your health and I would like to answer your queries in the following manner.
1. Instead of Completely stopping it’s advisable to make the dose of 40 MG to 20 MG because telmisartan also have cardio protective action. Kindly discuss with your primary physician and without his advice don’t alter any medicine.
2. Sugar fasting should be less than 100 mg/dl, 100-125 is prediabetic and above that on two separate occasions is diabetes.
BP systolic should not be less than 100 and not more than 140mmHg.
Kind Regards
