Question: I have used trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole for persistent epiditimytis, approx. 4 weeks with no resolution.

I have uretherits which is new and causing issues urinating. Am I on the correct antibiotic or what other medical procedures should I pursue?

Hi Bmxquantum,

Epididymitis and urethritis sounds like an STD to me. Have you had urine and urethral swabs sends for culture? This will allow a more targeted approach aimed at the specific bacteria. Where I am from, we would treat epididymitis with ciprofloxacin, typically for a few weeks.

Also, have you had an ultrasound?
