I Just Finished A Course Of Antibiotics And Am Now
Question: I just finished a course of antibiotics and am now experiencing intense vaginal and anal itching and burning. No discharge and a definite feeling of dryness - perhaps almost a feeling of a light chemical burn, even. No sexual activity in the last 8 months; no STDs. Have not had this issue before. (No idea if it could be related to the antibiotics but worth mentioning partly because they did cause some serious diarrhea.) Obviously with COVID-19 as a huge current issue, I think it's wise to ask online instead of going in in person. What are some of the likely causes for this, and what should I do next?

I think this itching and dryness in vaginal and anal area after antibiotic usage is related to yeast,fungal infection or thrush.
The white discharge like cottage cheese also may be present .
The antibiotic may have changed the vaginal bacterial flora causing this overgrowth of yeast.
Taking antibiotic together with vitamin C is recommended to prevent it from happening.
Now you can use antifungal ointment such clotrimazole ointment for three nights intravaginally.
You can find it over the counter in pharmacy.
