I Just Finished Taking Cipro 500 Mg Twice A Day

Question: I just finished taking Cipro 500 mg twice a day for 7 days. This is my second round. After the first round the symptoms returned in a day and a half. I completed taking Cipro less than 24 hours ago and my symptoms are returning, and an azo strip test shows white blood cells. My urine was originally cultured and Cipro was supposed to take care of it. Why would my symptoms return so soon?

Thanks for query .You have not mentioned your age and gender in your query .

Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have UTI and been taking Ciprofloxacin as per urine culture report since a week and your symptoms have recurred.

I shall be obliged if you upload Urine Culture report so as to make suggestions about taking other antibiotic as mentioned in culture report and the organisms causing this infection.

It takes 2-3 weeks for UTI to get resolved completely in males and takes longer time in females and one needs to switch on to other antibiotics if fails to get results with one or other .
