Question: I just got a report from an EKG that states
Sinus Rhythem abnormal 73. I need to schedule an appointment with a cardiologist. What exactly does a 73 reading mean? Is it a serious problem? Is it treatable? Is there anything I did or not do to cause it? I am not a smoker and drink very little caffeine. I do feel very stressed and have anxiety attacks. Thank you for your answer.

Brief Answer:
Need some more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical query raised by you I can understand your concern but before proceeding ahead I would like to ask you few more things

1. Why did you got an ecg done ?
2. Any other medical history
3. Any medications which you are currently taking
4. Any history of chest pain

Also kindly upload the ecg image so that I can personally review it for any specific changes. The results which come printed on an ecg are mostly not reliable as they are just machine interpretations.

Kind Regards

I got an EKG done not an ECG. I have not got the results on paper in my hand. I paid for something to be explained as to what I might have going on but know nothing more than before

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam first of all I don’t understand why you rated me with one star when I was trying to explain you things considering your benefit as my priority.

For your information EKG and ECG are synonyms used for the same test electrocardiogram.

If you just want to know what’s written on your ekg/ecg then I’ll explain. Sinus rhythm means the conduction of the heart is coming from the normal conduction pathway and electrical impulses are travelling normally from atria to ventricles via sinus node. 73 is your heart rate. Now both these things are absolutely normal findings. To know why it’s written abnormal I need to see ecg personally.

Hope you understood now.

Regards
