Question: I just had a Urinalysis Auto Point of Care-details
Blood Urine POCT value of 25 with no standard range stated.
I'm guessing this is a dipstick but was not sure because of the 25?
No mention of rbc's or anything other than what's above here.

Thanks so much! XXXXXXX M

HelloDr XXXXXXX
Mt ct w/wo contrast was done jan/2018 and was normal. I just had a regular cystoscopy that showed trabiculated bladder but no cancer. All my dipsticks show trace blood except for the one yesterday that showed 25. They mistakenly forgot to send out for micro and it's too late to do a micro. My cytology was normal 1 week ago. I still wonder about the blood that is now always present. My urologist says not to worry about and that I should get a laser surgery for my prostrate which he believes is the source of my bleeding. Would my normal ct 14 months ago preclude a chance of kidney cancer? Do you know how fast kidney cancers grow? I was told .7 cm/yr but read .28cm/yr. Would there be any benefit from any other test(US) or mri? Thanks for everything you've done up to this point. You've been extremely helpful. XXXXXXX

My creatinine was 76 and efgr was 60 after being normal on 6 other tests in the past 18 months. Any reason to follow-up with my urologist or pc doctor?

Thanks again!

Brief Answer:
The consistent presence of blood in urine demands investigations .

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for uploading the details .
Though your CT scan done in XXXXXXX 2018 is normal persistent presence of blood in urine demands further test ,

Since you are known to have BPH the blood in urine is most likely to be from bleeding from rupture of small veins on the superficial surface of enlarged prostate .However it is advisable to get fresh CT (plain and with contrast) to rule out possibility of any other cause for blood in urine (Hematuria) like tumor in Kidney

Consult your Urologist and repeat endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy) to assess the present situation of size ,configuration and anatomy of prostate .This will also help to rule out any pathology in bladder .

Thanks and Regards.

Thanks very much. Should I be concerned about my psa going from .82 to 1.44 in 1.67 years? And are you familiar with the DMX test for prostrate?

Detailed Answer:

The raise in PSA from 0.82 to 1.44 is not to be worried t all .It is well within normal range of 4 and should not be worried about cancer of prostate .
