Question: I just had a ct scan of my abdomine. The tech put me through the machine 2 times and then injected the XXXXXXX and sent me through a 3rd time. He said I would be done after that but he came out and said he wanted to send me back through to check my adrenal glands. Is this normal procedure or is it possible he saw something abnormal?

Brief Answer:
He probably noticed something abnormal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think this is not much common during a CT scan procedure. Probably he spotted something and that's why he returned you back for a second time and also injected contrast and turned you for another one.
I think one movement through scan was enough or if he planned to do it with contrast he would have injected the contrast before the procedure.
I think he noticed something abnormal which has made him do another scan and another one with contrast too.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
