Question: I just had an STD panel and my syphilis test was reactive. But the rpi tiper was 1:1. Could this be a false positive? I’ve never had this before and was tested six years ago and was negative

Yes, the rpr test is non specific and it has high false positivity rate. But I cant conclude you have no infection.

I recommend getting FTA-ABS test which has strong specificity and good positivity rate. This is positive confirms the infection.
