Question: I just had an annual examination at her ophthalmologist. During the slit lamp examination, the Dr asked. Me. to move her mask below the nose and the dr. also moved his mask below his nose. So both dr And. I had their nose exposed. Is thus the way all ophthalmologist. do the slit lamp examination

Hey thanks for the question. He must have done it to prevent fogging which can happen during slit lamp examination . And no all ophthalmologists dont do it . We use a complete face shield / or tape the mask tightly to the face with a surgical tape so no fogging occurs . Additionally with the mask we use goggles for the eye and sterilise the slit lamp after every patient. Hope my question helps you . Regards
