Brief Answer:
Kindly asked for more information and also a picture of the lumps

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

I carefully read your query. There are many possible causes of lumps in the scrotal area (from lipomas, spermocele, varicocele, ect) so more information and possibly a picture of the lumps is needed to help us better assist you.

It is very important to know:
Are the lumps visible (raised) or they can be identified only by touching? Do they seem connected to the skin (do they come up with the skin when you pull the skin)?

If the lumps are not visible but are only identified by touching (feeling deep under the skin) then an ultrasound of the area is indicated for a diagnosis.

If the lumps are raised over the skin then a clear image (picture) of the lumps is needed- this would give a lot of valuable information on the number, size, color, and location of the lumps.

It is also important for us to know if you have similar lumps or other skin lesions elsewhere on your body.

I am waiting to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician

The lumps are not visible and were noticed while washing touching, in the shower. I have no other lumps or lesions anywhere else on my body. They do not seemed connected to the skin and were only identified when searching closely inside the scrotal area. They are not on the outside per say, they are located more on the inside below the testicle.

Brief Answer:
Very likely this is varicocele

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome back,

A very common cause of lumps in the scotum is varicocele. These are dilated veins in the back of the testicle (where the veins that come out of the testicle lay). Most of the time it is the left side that is affected. Rarely other conditions are the cause and may be considered if varicocele is ruled out.

A physical examination is often quite informative for the doctor but generally an ultrasound is needed to confirm the diagnosis.

The doctor may also in some cases conduct other examinations to see if there is an underlying cause.
Surgery is the definitive treatment.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Kind regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
General and Family Physician
