I Just Turned 50 Years Male. I Have Had Headaches

Question: I just turned 50 years male.
I have had headaches which comes like once in 6 months or a year when there is a major tension in life like job issue or issue with family etc. The headaches usually goes away wth paracetamol tab.

Recently similar headaches are now coming every day for past 1 week. Yes I know I have issues with my work place etc but not to that extent.
I am worried about so many things like brain tumor etc etc.
The headaches are like pressure too much on the right side of my head. LEFT SIDE is fine.
What should i do?
I have insurance but am afraid if i see a doc they may say go for cat scan and i have read that cat scan may create cancer in later stages?

Can you pls diagnose or ask more questions to pinpoint about these headaches?

Brief Answer:
Get evaluated by the Neurologist. MRI has no adverse effects.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query.

First of all, I don't see a reason to think about tumors.

CT scan use is accompanied by an increase of radiation but there is no definitive evidence that it causes brain tumors.

Furthermore, your symptoms may be explained by migraines.

I think that you should get examined by your Neurologist.

If he thinks that in your case is necessary for imaging studies, you should be evaluated even better and without adverse effects by MRI.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

thanks, i have taken an appointment with doc and will let u know.
These headaches trigger when i am in tense condition. or people talk with loud noise of fight. Or when things not going the way I want.
I also have sinus and constant sound (tetanus etc) in ears but this has been from so long.
Thanks for your advise.

Brief Answer:
Nothing serious.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Since the MRI didn't find anything, these type of symptoms are considered to be linked with primary headaches.

I don't think to much of medications wil help you, try simple remedies such as paracetamol, ibuprofen, etc.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
