I Just Turned 80. Been Taking 50 To 75 Mg
Question: I just turned 80. Been taking 50 to 75 mg of Quetiapine. I feel mildly dizzy thru out the day. Could this be caused by Quetiapine?
I also take a statin, 81 mg of aspirin and a med to help my heart, cannot recall the name right now.

the heart med I take is: 12.5 mg twice a day of metoprolol.
Wish I could remember the name of the natural pill I take instead of quetiapine. I don't like taking quetiapine because when I wake up in the morning it makes me very drowsy.
I am a very active XXXXXXX I am a CPA still doing taxes, I am a self employed solo practicitioner [please forgive spelling errors]

Brief Answer:
This could be due to Quetiapine.

Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service
I can understand your problem. I hope with the medicines your blood pressure remains in normal range. Sometimes low blood pressure could result in dizziness through out the day. You are not on very high doses of medicines but since you are 80 so blood pressure should be in normal range.
The dose of 50-75 mg of Quetiapine is not a high dose. But considering the age side effects of drowsiness, dizziness can be seen. If your sleep is not much disturbed the you may reduce the dose to 50 mg per day or even less. This will definitely help you. Please talk with your doctor if the symptoms persist.
Thanks.
