Question: I know I have a chronic disease but also I know when I%E2%80%99m not okay but I%E2%80%99m not sure what to do. I%E2%80%99m Bronchiectasis with left lower lob lobectomy since childhood.

Starting from 2019 my health is not stable and moving downward, been in hospital 3 times. Bloody mucus. More short of breath, wheezing even after my med.

Now, I%E2%80%99m sick since November. When I have a fever they give me an oral antibiotic, even with antibiotic I%E2%80%99m not feeling well, I can%E2%80%99t even do even simple things like shower, I%E2%80%99m either sleeping too much or never. I don%E2%80%99t even have energy to walk or stand. Please direct me.. my doctor was taking my condition very seriously but I moved and I have new team. Even ER when I go they never act, they%E2%80%99re saying you must have a cold and don%E2%80%99t take my case.

Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor'

I can understand your concern and I am sorry about your situation.

As you explain the situation the fact that you have been in the hospital three times means that your lung status is deteriorating.

Another not good indicator is that you say you can not do freely normal daily activities. This means to me that the oxygenation is not enough and you need oxygen to help your lungs.
Also to help the airways not to be narrow it would be better for you to use a nebulizer for some days with steroids and bronchodilators such as CLENIL C twice until improvement.

I also recommend you to do the flu vaccine every fall and the pneumococcal vaccine every five years. They will protect you a lot against the viral and bacterial infections.

Please discuss this with your doctor and proceed accordingly.

Hope to have been helpful

Regards
Dr.Jolanda

This is my big problem, they say my oximeter readings are perfect 97-98, my blood work getting better this time but it used to be ups and downs, although I’m not feeling any better, I’m really sick and even how I look is so different than earlier this year, Even after nebulizer my wheezing is not improving. I feel so bad and not sure even when should I need to go to ER?
