I Know Celexa And Lexapro Are Similar Medications
Question: I know celexa and lexapro are similar medications - i gained a lot of weight on celexa and have tried others and they haven't been a good fit. Lexapro is working for my anxiety and so far i have not gained weight - so i am hoping that i dont gain like i did on celexa. i wonder if the chances are higher for me with weight issues happening since they are similar meds. or in the same group. thanks!

Generally the chances are same for weight gain in regard to both celexa and lexapro but individual variation remains there. Even on two different occasions I have observed different pattern of weight gain with same medication so I think there is more than what we know about weight gain and particular medication.
It can be said that since you have tendency to gain weight with celexa, the possibility is high with lexapro. Despite this only the use of medication can establish/refute this fact and other things are just assumptions.
