Question: I let my dog lick my anus and penis. (I regret this so much. I am never doing this again. Please understand how guilty I feel) anyways a a few weeks after, I started to get itchy around my anus and green stools. My anus is currently itchy and when I wipe, I see blood. (Bright red not much). I took a look at my Anus and it has a purple lump. It doesn’t hurt but sometimes does fee uncomfortable. It’s harder for me to hold my stool and urine. Also, my penis looks swollen from the meatus and red near the frenulum, where my dog mainly licked. Am I going to die? What do I do? I’m terrified. Did my dog do this? I also had oral with a stranger but only oral so this couldn’t explain the anal problems. It just makes more sense that this is all from my dog. I’m terrified. Please help
heres some pictures.
Brief Answer:
This seems to be hemorhoid
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
From the photo and your description it seems to be external hemorhoids.
Sometimes it can result from an infection or constipation. I will suggest that you get tested for gastrointestinal infection. So kindly get tested for:
- complete blood count
- stool test detailed examination, ova and cysts, culture and sensitivity
- urine examination
Take a dose of Tab Albendazole 400 mg. You may need a written prescription for this anti-parasitic medicine.
You may see your family doctor for tests and examination. Drink cleaner water with low ppm to avoid gastrointestinal infection.
A gastrointestinal infection may have transmitted from your dog, so take your precautions.
Meanwhile apply vaseline to find relief from itching. If there is pain during defecation then over the counter creams for hemorhoids may help.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello, and thank you for the thorough response. In your honest opinion, do you think I can die from this? I’m scared the infection will cause me something deadly. Also, what about the problem with my Penis. What could that be? Thank u and that’ll be all:)
Brief Answer:
Same infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Dogs can be carriers of many germs including parasites, amoeba and bacteria. It is the same infection that is causing anal symptoms, its also causing penis related symptoms.
Since the licking happened few weeks ago, its not due to trauma of licking.
No it will not kill you. Most infections limit themselves or cause life long infections if treatment not given. Cure is possible if the cause is found and appropriate treatment is taken.
Take help of a surgeon.
