I M In My Wheelchair For Work And Then Come

My main question is why does the edges keep bruising and then open up? What does purple bruising mean?
Bruises because of constant pressure and therefore lack of blood
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.
I understand your concern.
From your description seems like the bruising and black points come because of the pressure for a long time on them, lack of blood and then bruising.
I am afraid that the only thing you can do to avoid them is by either going uit of the wheelchair every 2 hours for 15 min, or finding a way to relieve the pressure from those points.
Once the bruises are caused, try to massage gently those areas with warm compresses or warm water. Do not rub the skin hardly, because that will cause it to get damaged and open up wounds.
Once the skin is damaged and the wounds are there, do not put alcohol or anything else that can make it more dry. The skin normally has bacteria so however your disinfect it, it can never stay sterilized. Apply constantly either vaseline or a cream to keep those wounds always moist. In this way you will avoid dry crusts, and they will heal faster.
Take a multivitamin daily, so you can take some supplements to support faster healing.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,

Keep the wound wet.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The best is not to use alcohol or idodine which will make it more dry and difficult to heal.
You should apply wet compresses inside it 3 times per day. By keeping it always wet, the crust and the dead tissue will gradually go away. Make sure the wet compress is on top of only the damaged skin.
In the first days you will notice the wound become bigger. This because all the dead tissues will first go away. When you will see the red tissue at the bottom of the wound, it will then start healing from the bottom and gradually fill up. Keep keeping it wet untill it fills up completely.
I hope this is clear. Let me know if you have questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
