I Might Have A Concussion . Hit My Head Really

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2020
Question: I might have a concussion. Hit my head really hard 2 nights ago on a carpeted floor. Had a headache the whole next day. I was drinking when I hit my head and only had 3 hours of sleep. So I’m unsure what the cause of the headache was. I didn’t have a headache today but my head where I hit it still hurts to the touch as if there’s a big sized bruise.

I haven’t had any of those symptoms. I’m 22 never had a concussion before. I hit it on a carpeted floor. Had. Headache all next day and then today haven’t felt any symptoms besides it hurts to touch where I hit my head. Is there any chance I have a concussion? Should I see a doctor or even if I do have one should I just rest and let it heal.

Brief Answer:
As discussed

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Nice to know that you do not have any symptoms as I have asked for.
There is only tenderness at the site of hit. This is usually due to local inflammation.
By literally meaning, concussion is temporary loss of brain function and you do not have any such history.
There is always a small chance of internal injury. This can be diagnosed only by clinical examination by a Doctor and a CT scan/MRI of brain for any internal injury. Hence it is best to consult your Doctor as examination can be done by one-to-one visit. If he/she feels so, CT/MRI may be done.

I hope this answers your query.
Keep watching for the symptoms I have mentioned above.

Take care.
