Question: I need help understanding a doctors report. I have cancer and had a tumor removed. I came across notes from a follow up scan a month ago and this concerns me: “nodes of recurrent residual mass” what does this mean? As the entire mass was supposedly removed

Brief Answer:
Seems like the tumoral mass has remained.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

"Nodes of the recourent residual mass" means that there are lymph nodes from a remaining tissue or recourent mass.
It seems like some tissue from tumor has remained or has redeveloped causing lymph nodes also.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
