Question: I recently had my nose cauterized (last Friday) and the nose seems to be healing fine and I’m keeping antibiotic ointment on the area but the scab is annoying. How long will it stay there before it falls off? And also, when the nose is cauterized does the specific vein go away or is it just covered with scar tissue. Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hii. After cauterisation of bleeding vessel there are scabbing of tissue underneath. Please continue the antibiotic ointment to prevent infection. These scabbing will stay for 2-3 week until the underlying raw tissue get healed up. The underlying epithelium need to grow over the scarred tissue. During cauterisation the bleeding vessel get coagulate and charred so that the lumen of the vessel get permanently constricted. So the bleeding vessel get converted to scarred tissue.
