I Recently Noticed A Small Pea Sized Lump Under My

Question: I recently noticed a small pea sized lump under my skin right above my jawline. It doesn’t hurt, but now that I’ve discovered it, I’ve been a bit worried. It feels rubbery, similar to a swollen lymph node. Is this something to get checked out?
Brief Answer:
Please give details and post actual photographs.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short.
Noted your history and understood the concerns.
Please give few more details for me to assist you better.
Above jaw-line: does this mean that the pea-sized lump is on the face side?
Can you please provide the photo with the marker to show the exact site of a lump?
Any pain/tenderness?
Attached to skin?
Skin changes?
History of pimples/acne?
Tooth caries or gums problems?
Any other history?
Awaiting for your detailed feedback and photo with marker.

Hi, I have attached a picture and have circled the lump. Yes, it is on the side of my face. It is not painful but is a little tender, I think mostly because now that I know it’s there I keep touching it. It doesn’t feel attached to the skin. It is movable. I have had cystic acne, but this is not painful like the acne was for me. I haven’t noticed any changes to my skin. It is even with my bottom gum line, but I am not having any pain associated with my teeth.
Brief Answer:
Looks to be cyst as discussed below
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback and clear photo with marker.
This looks to be a cyst/cystic acne as you have mentioned well.
Lymph nodes are always below the jawline.
Handling/fondling causes inflammation and tenderness as you have correctly mentioned.
You already have a few acne as can be seen in the photo.
I think wait and watch is the best policy at the moment.
If Covid-19 is not the problem in your area, you can certainly show this to your Doctor for examination and prescription based treatment if he/she thinks so.
Splashes of plain water to wash of the dead debris and oil helps a lot in acne.
I hope this answer helps you.
Give feedback. Wait and watch.
Take care.

Thank you! Is a cyst generally a cause for concern? Do they go away on their own, or would treatment be needed?
Brief Answer:
As discussed
Detailed Answer:
Most welcome.
Cysts of such type resolve by body's mechanism in most of the cases unless infected.
Only those which do not reduce or cause complications like abscess formation may need an active treatment.
Cysts on face means the ducts are getting blocked; usually by dead tissues at the opening.
Repeated splashes of water, applying gram-flour paste in water help to remove the dead tissues blocking the ducts and thus avoid new cyst formation.
Many a times the skin gets adjusted to hormonal changes, atmospheric factors and the acne and cysts stop coming.
Avoid stress and anxiety, late nights (needs good sleep), good hydration and so on help a lot in such conditions.
I hope this answers your specific queries and also helps you further.
