I Recently Noticed That My Feet Swell After Sitting For

Question: I recently noticed that my feet swell after sitting for too long in one position like on a road trip. I'm concerned as I have had several trips to the hospital due to rapid heat rate and shortness of breath. Had an echo cardiogram last year. And they didn't find anything. However my heart rate can go up to 160 at resting. I did recently get an ovary removed. The swelling goes away within minutes of me elevating them. I'm 31 years old. Any advice? I'm also at my biggest weight at 223 and I'm 5'3
Brief Answer:
An ECG is needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
Having a heart rate at 160 bpm is not quite normal. I think you need to do an ECG and visit a cardiologist. If it results to be normal you may need a holter monitor.
The swelling on feet may not be related to heart problems since last ecocardiograme was normal.
I think it can be related to varicose veins and and increased body weight.
You should try to lower the body weight having a healthy diet and exercise.
Avoid long standing in feet and elevate them from time to time.
Don't stay for longer on heated environment.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

My bpm haven't gotten that high anymore im on metropolol for it to not speed up. My ECG usually are inconclusive with sinus tachycardia. Blood pressure always within normal range. Ill try and press for the on week halter monitor. I had one placed but only for 24 hours. Nothing came back. I will work on my diet for the time being. Thank you.
