Question: I did my Health checkups and under "LIVER FUNCTION PROFILE, SERUM" category I see a slight increase in "LACTATE DEHYDROGENASE" which is 233. Is there anything I should be worried of . Do I need to keep a track of this value in future. If so what tests should I need to do?

Brief Answer:
Non specific

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query

LDH is a non specific test and can be seen raised in multiple conditions.

It indirectly indicates any sort of damage in tissues mainly respiratory system.

I would like to know what were your symptoms during the viral fever your had ?
How long were you affected with the infection..?

I had throat infection, with running nose . Had cough but not that severe . It lasted for 15 days and I was having antibiotics while taking the blood test. No fever .

Brief Answer:
Repeat test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the information.

Sorry for the delay in my response.

I would recommend a repeat test now, to see if LDH has reduced. If it has reduced there is no need to worry, as the infection you had could be the reason.

Regards,
